SMEs AND INDUSTRY 4.0: DEVELOPMENT AND PROPOSAL OF A MEASUREMENT MODEL
Keywords:
Maturity models, Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Measurement methodologyAbstract
Industry 4.0 technologies are crucial for business competitiveness, making it important to measure their level of implementation. Maturity models assess the degree of adoption of these technologies, enabling the diagnosis and planning of technological improvements in industries. However, due to their methodological complexity and the need for specialized knowledge, these models are challenging to apply in SMEs. Our work proposes a diagnostic tool and a methodology to evaluate the maturity of Industry 4.0 technology implementation in SMEs. We first conduct an analysis of global maturity models, then develop an instrument to assess the progress in applying automation and data analysis technologies, and finally apply this instrument to twelve Argentine SMEs, discussing the results obtained.
